The Application

Microgrids are the hardest test of a converter. There is no stiff grid to synchronise to, no external inertia to borrow, and often no engineer within a day’s travel. Soaring’s microgrid systems have operated above 4,300 metres in Qinghai, on tropical islands in the Maldives, and inside industrial research campuses.

What Matters Here

  • Grid-forming by necessity — off-grid means there is nothing to follow.
  • Altitude and climate tolerance — proven at 4,200–4,500m and in tropical island conditions.
  • Multi-unit parallel — scale the microgrid without a transformer per unit.
  • Black start — bring the system up from dead with no external source.
  • Serviceability — remote sites are unforgiving.
